As a cinematographer I work with fiction, documentary, dance- and art film. I am fascinated by moving images and how they work on different levels. On the surface they tell a concrete visual story, but at the same time the subtext affects us - making us think, relate, and most importantly: Feel.
My visual language is often inspired by the psychology of the characters. Therefore it is important to break down the script, understanding the characters’ wants, needs, and their emotional journey. With this in mind we can create the mood and style of the film.
In addition to fiction and documentary, I work a lot with dance and performance art. When filming, we are connected in a dance that occurs between the camera and the performer. Dance and body language can tell something different, beyond words, and I want to explore bringing this into fictional work as well.

A recurrent theme in my visual work is body-expectations, questioning the so-called ideal body. How can we feel comfortable in our bodies while being surrounded by expectations and demands?
Working with visual arts is to create another dimension of experience, reaching beyond language to visualize thoughts and feelings in colour and form.
